AH, WHATEVER, RELEASE YOUR STUFF WHENEVER YOU WANT, BUT PLEASE, DON'T RUSH THE RELEASES BECAUSE YOU WANT THEM TO BE AT A PARTY, DON'T RELEASE STUFF THAT MAKES THE MUSIC STOP FOR A COUPLE OF FRAMES WHEN YOU CHANGE EFFECTS, DON'T RELEASE STUFF WITH FLICKERING MULTIPLEXERS, DON'T RELEASE STUFF WITH UGLY 8X8 EFFECTS THAT ARE UPDATED ONCE EVERY SECOND, OR SOMETHING. IT WON'T MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY. I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I SEE IN SOME DEMOS. IT'S COOL THAT YOU CAN DO PHONG SHADING ON THE C-64, BUT IF YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO DO IT, KEEP THE OBJECTS SMALL AND SIMPLE ENOUGH THAT THEY CAN MOVE SMOOTHLY. I HATE LARGE TORUSES THAT MOVE EVERY 50TH FRAME, IT'S SO EXTREMELY UGLY, AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CODE IS THE COOLEST IN THE WORLD, IT'S PLAIN UGLY AND SHOULDN'T BE USED IN A DEMO. IT'S THE OLD DILEMMA OF HARD CODE VERSUS DESIGN. CAN A DEMO BE REALLY UGLY AND STILL BE GOOD, BECAUSE THE CODE KICKS? OF COURSE, BUT THERE ARE LIMITS TO EVERYTHING. YOU COULD MAKE A DEMO OF THE WORLD'S FASTEST SORTING ROUTINE AND ONLY PRINT OUT THE NUMBERS THAT IT HAS SORTED IN RECORD TIME. THAT MIGHT BE IMPRESSIVE, BUT IT SURE ISN'T DEMO MATERIAL. AND I THINK THE SAME THING HOLDS FOR PHONG SHADING: IT'S PROBABLY COOL CODE-WISE, BUT IT'S NOT DEMO MATERIAL, BECAUSE IT'S JUST TOO UGLY. HEAVY USE OF 4X4 EFFECTS IS SOMETHING I DISLIKE TOO, ALTHOUGH IT CAN BE VERY NICE TOO. JUST CHECK OUT WORLD OF CODE 2 AND 3, BY BYTERAPERS. THOSE ARE NICE DEMOS, FILLED WITH 4X4 EFFECTS, AND THEY'RE SMOOTH AND FAST AND NICE, BECAUSE MR. SEX WAS SUCH A GREAT CODER. MOST PEOPLE WHO DO 4X4 AND 8X8 EFFECTS SEEM TO BE SO SLOPPY IN CODING THEM. THEY DON'T CARE IF THE COLOURS ARE UGLY, IF THINGS FLICKER AND IF IT'S SYNCED TO THE RASTER BEAM. ANYWAY, I'LL STOP COMPLAINING NOW, AND TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE. - E MAYBE I SHOULD TALK A BIT ABOUT MUSIC, AS THIS IS A MUSIC COLLECTION. YEAH, I'LL TALK A BIT ABOUT MUSIC.
